The founder of Golden Grove School, Helena brings 13 years experience in the education sector to her very active, hands-on Head of School role. Helena is primarily responsible for the day to day teaching of the senior class, consisting of children in Years 5-8.

A passionate believer in a holistic approach to children’s education, Helena is involved in virtually every aspect of the School’s operation.

In her own words, Helena’s vision for Golden Grove School is as a tiny piece of the giant, yet to be completed jigsaw puzzle that is our collective aspiration for world peace:

Mrs. Janett Singh

Primary Teacher

Masters in Culture & Media Pedagogy
Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary)

Janett is the junior teacher at Golden Grove School, responsible for the learning of children in Years 1–4.

Janett has trained both here in New Zealand and at home in her native Germany. Her passion for teaching is clear in her approach to the learners and her dedication to excellence.

Janett has a a strong love of dance and creative movement and regularly spends time passing these loves onto the children.

Miss Samantha Richardson Sam teacher photo

Auckland University of Technology

Sam is teaching in the senior class. She received training at Golden Grove School as a student teacher in 2016 while finishing her degree at  Auckland University of Technology. Sam started working at Golden Grove School from January 2017. Her enthusiasm for education and love for children are fantastic.

Sam is passionate about education and is excited to be beginning her Montessori career at Golden Grove School.
In her spare time, Sam loves to go 4×4 driving, baking or cooking up a storm in the kitchen and she also enjoys new adventures that can bring a challenge.

Teaching Staff:

Ms. Nishima Knowsley: Teaching Assistant, Music Coordinator

Nishima has been working at Golden Grove School since 2010.

She is a valuable member assisting teachers. She has a very special gift relating in delightful ways with our young students. She also has experience in Kodaly music training, which enables her to introduce music to children through the voice.

Office Staff:

Ms. Nirvyaja Holley: Staff Assistant

Nirvyaja has been working at Golden Grove School since November 2015.

Her role within the school is to assist Helena, Our Head of School. This role includes Student Enrolments; Scheduling and Organising School Events, Parent Communication and Staff Assistance.

Nirvyaja brings to the school a passion to support the teachers and staff.

Ms. Kana Yamaguchi: Office Administrator

Kana and her family (husband and three children) emigrated from Japan in May 2014. She has been working at Golden Grove School since October 2015.

As our valued office administrator she manages all the paperwork and administration connected with Golden Grove School.

Ms. Shvastanee Ballantyne: Finance Administrator

Shvastanee has been with the school since late 2014. Before this she ran her own business. She managers all financial matters related to the school.
